Deji and Gbemisola (Helen) Aregbesola faithfully serve as the leaders of the Great Pearl International Christian Church.

Deji was baptized as a disciple of Jesus Christ into the campus ministry of the London International Christian Church on the 4th of December, 2016, while studying Biomedical Science at the prestigious University College London. After his bachelor’s degree he worked and trained as an educator via the Postgraduate Certificate in Education program of the UCL Institute of Education.

Helen Aregbesola was initially converted by the disciples in the Metro Manila International Christian Church in 2015 while she pursued her bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy at Arellano University, Manila, Philippines. She served in Metro Manila International Christian Church for six years before returning to Lagos, Nigeria in December 2021 in order to be a part of the mission team sent to plant the Kampala, Uganda church in 2022.

Before answering God’s call for the full time ministry, Deji worked briefly as a science educator in the UK and in Nigeria while Helen worked as an assistant Pharmacist, then as an expatriate customer service representative for an Australian company. God worked it out that Deji and Helen got married in Nigeria in 2022 shortly before heading out to Uganda as part of the mission team.

As part of his ministry training, Deji led the campus ministry of the Lagos Church from 2019 to 2020 before being given the opportunity to lead the Island region of the Lagos Church from 2020 till 2022. Helen also served as a campus minister in the Lagos Church in early 2022. Deji and Helen obtained their bachelor’s degree in Ministry (BA) from the International College of Christian Ministry in 2023 and 2020 respectively.

Deji enjoys playing tennis and cycling while Helen is an ardent dancer and a great cook. You can easily find them having Bible studies with different people at Makerere University.
